i saw a movie last Sunday
Its called Be Kind Rewind, directed by Michel Gondry, works included Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Sciences of Sleep, 2 of my favourite films of all time. He also did the MV for Around The World by Daft Punk. Michel (read like "Michelle", not "Michael") is one of my favourtie directors.
To me, the film name Be Kind Rewind sounds like asking for the customers' help "Be kind, rewind the tape before giving it back, ok?"(p.s. and in fact it does, see Wiki )Coz the name is also for the VCR (yes, VCR) rental store which faces the fate of death just for the reason of being an old building, in another word, heritage. The story looks awfully familiar to people in Hong Kong but i m not the one who talks about this topic. Wat goes into my heart is the media Michel has been using in this film - VCR, casette tape and all the sweding.
It seems to me that Michel Gondry (and many of us) are fans of casette tape and VCR and all kinds of analogue stuff during and before 80's, which is not familiar to the youngster nowadays at all. And for the whole plot of the movie, being analogue is the key to be magnetized by Jerry (by Jack Black). U can't magnetize and erase a DVD, can u? (and u dont have to rewind after watch it either)
VCR can be magnetized so easily just as how weak the old rental store is. So goes DVD replaces VCR, new apartment developments replace old neighbourhood. Digital media replaces analogue media.
The director is so fond of the analogue media/stuff and believe in the adorableness of them(just as we do) that he keeps making "analogue video", which are not limited to movies. See the MV Around the World (Daft Punk, 1999). In Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, the "memory erasure devise" Jim Carrey was used on looks almost like a cousin of the "hat" on Jerry's head in Be Kind Rewind, to protect Jerry from the radiation of the power plant. Science of Sleep is full of analogue stuff, makes me wonder if any CG's been used in the production. Only choreography was used in the MV of Around the World, this approach make this MV one of the most memorable pieces of the band and the director himself.

back from beijing, tripped to germany, got no intention to work at all, wanna travel again. taiwan? thai again? anyway, not hk.
my psp is dead T___T....somebody help!!!!
so many games, so little time: God of War1, 2, psp. Devil May Cry 4, Bioshock, MPO+, Metal Gear Acid 2, Call of Duty 4, etc, etc.
and the movies i bought in beijing, when will i ko them all??? god pls help me orz...

觸不到的生死時速
尋晚睇完<暗湧>(淺野中信)散場見到張poster , 有Keanu Reeves同 Sandra Bullock,叫The Lake House. 我仲以為係生死時速第十集點知今日睇完trailer原來係<觸不到的戀人>(李政宰/全智賢/2000年)嘅Hollywood 版. 仲要睇完trailer已經知道8成劇情.
唉......
其實亞洲電影同電玩改編Hollywood版已經唔係新嘢(電玩改編係另一個話題), 而且keep住有,其實我都唔知係咪好事. 係咪技窮嘅表現?定係自覺拍得好過原作, 可以改善原作而變得更完美? 似乎兩者都唔係好事......
自己從來睇呢d戲都感覺怪怪咁.除非未睇過原作,否則好難覺得好睇. 除左先入為主之外,最大問題係好多西人都做唔到果d意境, 好多角色行為因為文化差異而變得唔make sense, 冇說服力, 即等於中國人入廟同西人入廟嘅心態分別, 廟呢個key 對大家嘅意義都唔同,點去講同一個故事?
明確例子一個: <無間道>, 英文名Infernal Affairs好難講主角點落入無間道受苦, 最後可能改變晒成個key, 更慘嘅係變成普通卧底片一套.
算吧啦,個人意見姐.

任天堂流淚
呢前期先學人努力玩Super Mario, 唔係New Super Mario Bros. (06年作品), 係Super Mario Sunshine (02年作品......)
隻game 雖則係舊,但係超好玩! 好玩過好多新game, 畫面colorful, 完全渡假feel, 好玩好玩真係好好玩~~不過而家連5份1都唔到,唔知幾時先爆!
舊年係Mario 20 歲生日, 之後新作不斷. Mario Kart 唔計, 今年都有 New Super Mario Bros. (NDS)+ Super Paper Mario(GameCube), 仲有唔知幾時出嘅Wii 版 Super Mario Galaxy + Super Smash Bros. Brawl, 人生簡直係充斥住呢個意大利水喉佬...
New Super Mario Bros. 我梗係想玩,之但係我都未買NDS Lite....我都係等緊黑色...
隻game 不論玩法, 音效(食菇聲,食金幣聲)都係同以前一樣, 新加嘅巨大磨菇更係令人尖叫~
大家嘅回憶番黎啦!
NDS 有 3D Mario, Gamecube 就玩番2D. Super Paper Mario 玩法都係踩龜, 但係入面所有角色都係一張紙...... 食巨大磨菇之後仲會變巨大pixel Mario......正到呢
Super Mario Galaxy 就係Nintendo Wii 嘅招牌作, 用Wii 嘅 Remote Controller 體驗意大利水喉佬嘅小王子式生活, 點控制?

至於Smash Bros. , 都係大亂鬥囉, 但係.......都係睇片啦...

人生最大掙扎(又最大?)
Apple 終於(又)出新Laptop, 繼之前Powerbook 已死, 投胎做Macbook Pro(似漢堡包名)
今次到iBook死, 轉世靈童法號Macbook (似漢堡包名)
之前Apple 出手玩原廠dual boot Boot Camp 已經令剛剛買新PC嘅我撼頭埋牆 (我話過如果Mac 機用到我工作用嘅software, 我一定買, 而Boot Camp係可以令Mactel ((MacOS + Intel, Windows + Intel = Wintel))機用晒, 係用晒所有Windows software, 包括打機)
如今Macbook 當然可以玩Boot Camp, 而且佢最可惡可愛可恨嘅地方唔係佢有2Ghz CPU唔係佢有內置 iSight 唔係佢有內置 Bluetooth唔係佢有內置 Airport card唔係佢support Front Row + Universal Remote:
而係佢有黑色...

自己除咗中意Wallace & Gromit之外,都算係半個動畫人。我好明白自己啲心機一下子唔見晒係咩感覺(我諗有D似比人飛)，當時我唔見晒成份作品，自己就喺個無人見到嘅地方到喊咗出黎(都話咗似比人飛㗎啦)
當時我份作品只係做咗１個月多D我就喊成咁
